Snow falls
dark descends
families gather under
rooftops—

naked branches clothe themselves
with white coverings

  1. Some winter poems make me cold but for some reason this one makes me cozy. And this winter cozy is a good thing. Nicely done Lori!

    1. I was careful to cover the naked branches...just for you, Prude.

  2. I love your imagery, as if the trees are choosing to cover themselves in snow instead of standing shivering, getting dumped on! I also appreciate the cozy thought of families snuggling where it's warm. Well done, Lori!

  4. Now that you mention it, the sky is a gorgeous shade of blue this morning, as I view it from my north window. I'm glad you encouraged me to notice.
