Sunsets

Sunsets have always enchanted me. I especially love the dark silhouette of trees against the brilliant colors of the falling sun. Black trunks, stark against the yellows, golds, pinks, reds and oranges, stops me in my tracks every time. I stop and stare, breathing deeply as if I can inhale and imprint the beauty forever on my mind.

 

I also appreciate God's simultaneous handiwork in other parts of the sky. I love the lavender and gray swipes that soften the coming of night. 

Today was especially beautiful, so much so that I ran outside in my barefeet to capture these photos (it's only 20 degrees F here) . I know, my shoes were right there on the way out, but it was totally worth it. :-)
