These are a few of my favorite things...

Raindrops on Roses, and Whiskers on Kittens! Come on now, everybody sing!

Yes, I'm pretty sure I know all the words to The Sound of Music! My mom was a big
fan of the movie, and when I traveled to Europe I even went to Austria to to go on the
tour and see all the famous sites from the film.

So, I was thrilled to be able to interview and meet one of the stars from the film, Debbie Turner.
She played the second youngest daughter in the Von Trapp family, Marta. She has retired from acting, but lives in the Midwest now and owns her own floral design company. We had a great time talking about the movie, and looking thru the latest memorabilia, The Sound of Music Scrapbook!

Along those lines, I thought I'd share a few of my favorite things about spring!

Seeing the ice melt, and the lake appear...

Pussy Willows

and saving the best for last...Lilacs!

What are your favorites? Songs or Signs of Spring?

Happy Spring!

  1. That is amazing, Michelle! I loved the interviews with the cast on the anniversary disc. I had no idea one of them lived so close. Thanks for sharing. The Midwest rocks.

  2. How great is that! What a fun thing to do. I'd have to say one of my favorite signs of spring are the bird songs coming in my window in the early morning. I want to hug those birds but I always scare them away :)

  3. LOVED that movie (and adore lilacs). My favorite sign of spring is the birds singing. Ahhhh.

  4. The smell of honeysuckle! It came early this year, as we didn't really have much of a winter. We're pretty much into summer weather now.

  5. Michelle that is the perfect vacation to me - to go where a movie or a book took place. We sorta did that out west one year - following some of the places in a Tony Hillerman mystery.

How special to talk to one of the actors and that she lives in the midwest. How cool! Thanks for sharing.
