Pumpkin Schmumkin!

Generally speaking, Fall is my favorite season. But this year, one thing is really bothering me. Everybody is fixated on pumpkins.

Pumpkins at the farmers market
Pumpkin soup at the deli
Pumpkin loaf at Caribou
Pumpkin recipes handed out at my BANK!!!

But my biggest pet peeve of all is all the talk about PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE!

I've heard more about this one drink, than all of the world's beverages combined! Futhermore, if one more friend posts about this on Facebook, I'm going to have a meltdown!

So, to counteract this is my first official version of:

"Drink This...Not That!"

Drink This...

Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

Not That...

Pumpkin Spice Latte

Trust'll be alot happier. I know I am. :)

  1. The thought of that always feels a little weird whenever I see a sign for it. I love pumpkin and all - but in a pie or bread, drink.

  2. I suppose I could say you'd all be happier drinking black coffee, but only black coffee drinkers would believe me.
But you have my attention: SALTED caramel hot chocolate????

  3. so where in coffee land can I get a salted caramel hot chocolate and if I do I will have you to thank for the calories that refuse to head south for the winter?

  4. My husband is a pumpkin spice latte FIEND! So I can totally relate. And I don't like ANY type of coffee. So the hot cocoa definitely sounds better to me - but I've never heard of salting it. What's the purpose? What does it do?

  5. Raising coffee here.
Isn't salting one of those southern things - like putting peanuts in Coke?

  6. Okay, so where's the recipe? We will test it and let you know.

  7. The best place to get this is at Starbucks. It's sea salt sprinkled on top, caramel, and then a toffee nut flavoring which they add to the hot chocolate. I don't know how many calories it is..too afraid to look! :)

Thanks for stopping by the Barn Door! We'd love to hear from you!
